Dawn Marie Gehrig, age 68, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2024, with family by her side. She was born in Racine, February 27, 1956, daughter of the late Theodore and Bonie (Nee: Coey) Gehrig.

Dawn attended Wm Horlick High School “Class of 1974”. She was a former member of First United Methodist Church. Dawn was an employee for Racine Unified School District as an engineer for 22 years. She enjoyed dancing with friends, listening to 50’s music, gardening in her yard, spending time on Waubeesee Lake with her late Fiancé, Lenny. She will be remembered for her loving and caring spirit. Above all she treasured time with her family especially her Grandchildren.

Surviving are her son, Felix “Trey” (Kristin Bayuk) Mireles III; daughter Amanda (Mario Rangel) Mireles; grandchildren; Mario Jr, Maya, Mariah, Kira, Adriano, Page, and Fiona; great grandchildren; Joanna, Mario III, Mateo, and Ella. siblings, Robert Yeager, Norman (Renate) Gehrig, Linda (Robert) Heaney, Steven (Becky) Gehrig, Joane King, and Lori (Vernon) Marks; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Allen; infant grandson Mateo Marjil Mireles-Rangel; and her fiancée, Leonard Niemec Sr.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home, Wednesday, May 15, 2024, 11 am with Pastor Tony Visor officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet at the funeral home Tuesday, May 14, 2024, 5-7pm and on Wednesday 10-11am. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family have been suggested.
