Clara Mae Allen, age 87, passed away Friday, March 25, 2022, at Ascension All Saints Hospital. She was born in Stephen, Arkansas, May 25, 1934, the 9th of 11 children of the late Mitchel and Emmaline (Nee: Green) Scott.

Clara graduated from Carver High School, Steven, AR where she excelled in basketball playing forward. It was at one of her games that she met a young man also playing basketball named Levi Allen and on October 24, 1954, they were united in marriage. This union was blessed with 5 children, Brenda, Marcus, Keith, Craig, and Sibyl. At an early age she accepted Christ as a member of Sweet Home Baptist Church in Buena Vista, AR. In 1958, they moved to Racine where Levi was employed by J.I. Case Co. They joined Second Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Mack C. Davis and then Pastor Daryn Crenshaw where Clara sang in the Church Mass Choir. Clara later became a member of Christ Community Church under Pastor Creshaw and loved traveling with the choir to various churches in the south and locally. She loved baking and cooking dishes to take to various functions held at church and did this until her memory and health failed her. She will be remembered for her excellent Southern Fried Chicken. Clara looked forward to spending time with relatives at Christmas, summer vacations and family reunions. Most of all she treasured time spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Surviving to cherish her memory are her children, Brenda Allen, Keith Allen, and Sibyl Allen; grandchildren, Craig Allen, Timothy Churchwell, Dr. Sekani Allen, Raineen Allen; greatgrandchildren, Mariah Allen, Noah Allen, Isabella Allen, Amaya Churchwell, Marcus Churchwell, Levi Churchwell and Timothy Churchwell III; brother, Davis Scott; special niece, Garnett Slauter Beckly; special in-law Doris Stewart; special cousin, "Cheerios Girl” Shelia Stewart; special friend, Georgia Hamilton; a host of many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by sons, Marcus James Allen, Craig Allen; siblings, Orivia Scott, Martha Perine, Olphilia Copeland, Lila Queary, Earl, Otis, Walter, Leonard and Charles Scott.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home, Friday, April 8, 2022, 12 pm with Pastor Mya Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet prior to the funeral 11am until 12 pm.
