Dimitrios Koutsopoulos, age 94, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2022, at the Greek American Rehabilitation and Care Center. He was born in Greece, July 24, 1928, son of the late Dionisios and Constandina (NeeLFragakis) Koutsopoulos.
On September 3, 1950, in Karpenisi, Greece he was united in marriage to Christina Scordas who preceded him in death June 13, 2015. Dimitrios was employed as a truck driver and later owned and operated Jimmy’s Supply for 25 years where he was affectionately known as “Jimmy the Greek”. He was a member of Kimissis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church and AHEPA. Dimitrios was an avid poker player and will be remembered for Greek dancing. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
Surviving are his 4 children, Dennis (Sandy) Koutsopoulos of CA, Effie (Charles) Sherman of Arkansas, Helen Leclair of Kenosha, Dina (Chris) Cherry of IL; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Aneste (Zrisanthi) Koutsopoulos and sister, Katina (Tianni) Nikolaou.
Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Wednesday, December 28, 2022, 7 pm. Relatives and friends may meet prior to the service 4-7 pm.
