Eddie Lee Burney passionately known as “Roy” made his transition on Saturday December 25, 2021. Eddie was born in Oxford, Mississippi on February 19, 1949 to the late Cora Lee Burney and Clifford Martin. Eddie received his education from schools in Oxford, Mississippi.

Eddie was employed by Belle City, Harris Metals, and Goodwill Industries; retiring in 2014 as an Assembler. Eddie loved to shop for clothes and hats and was dubbed a “dapper dresser”. Eddie also enjoyed playing cards, with Gin Rummy, Tonk, and Pitty Pat being his favorite. Eddie was also known as a “grill master”. Another favorite past time of Eddie’s was washing and waxing cars.

Eddie leaves to cherish his precious memories his daughter; Dr. VaCora (Honorable Judge Zol) Rainey DDS of Fredericksburg, VA. Step-children, Vanessa Oliver-Gardner of Allen, TX, Varnard (fiancée Jennifer Carr) Oliver of Gainesville, TX, Veronica Oliver of McKinney, TX.

Eddie is further survived by his sisters; Berniece (Pastor Donnel) Owens of Davenport, IA, Tonia Griffin, and Beverly Griffin all of St. Paul, MN. Brothers; Clifford Dale Martin Jr. of Chicago, IL., Clifford Griffin, Pastor Michael Griffin, all of St. Paul, MN and Dennis (Renee) Griffin of North Carolina. Grandson; Zol Rainey II. Step- Grandchildren; Vonterius, Vontrell, Aasin, Danielle, and Morgann. Step Great-Grandchildren Emani, Summari and Nelson. Eddie will also be remembered by special friend; Herbert Lee Martin (other friends, too numerous to mention).

Eddie was preceded in death by his parents; sister Debora Martin, and brother; Clifford (Paul) Martin, and Special Friends, Monk, Jabbo, and Dudlo.
