Eva Flohr (Knoch) born June 6, 1927 in Bastaj, Yugoslavia passed quietly at the age of 94 in her home in Mount Dora, Florida of natural causes surrounded by loved ones on January 23,2022 at 1:39 pm.

Eva relocated to Austria in 1944 and married Jakob Flohr in October of 1950. They relocated together to Dixon, Illinois, United States in 1956 where they lived until July of 1963 when they settled in Racine, Wisconsin where she lived independently as a widow for 25 years. She then settled with family in Florida in 2016 until her passing.

Employed for 22 years at Lincoln Lutheran Home where she worked tirelessly until she retired in 1989. Member of Lincoln Lutheran 20 year club & auxiliary and 1st Evangelical Lutheran Church. She also managed The German Club in Racine, WI for many years.

Preceded in death by her parents George and Eva Knoch, brothers George and Heinrich and sister Elizabeth Naumann (Knoch), husband Jakob, daughter Eva Kaprelian and grandson Jakob Flohr.

Survived by her daughter Annalisa Meyer, son Jacob Flohr, daughter in law Robin Flohr, son in law Michael Kaprelian, grandchildren Tanya Meyer & Brandon Hoffman, Lisa Kaprelian, Mikey Kaprelian, John & Sarah Meyer, Brian & Laura Schoenbeck, 10 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, her loyal dog Frannie and many friends who loved and cared for her.

Eva’s biggest joy in life was her family. She always said “If love could heal the world there would be no fighting because I have enough for everyone”. She absolutely loved animals of all kinds (except snakes she would always say). She loved to read and was often found curled up with a good word search as well. She had an amazing green thumb, loved to dance and was an avid cook creating meals many have tried to replicate. When asked what her name was she always responded “everyone calls me Grama”. Her stories of growing up could leave anyone speechless and she loved to share them with anyone who was willing to hear them. She was an angel on earth and is dearly loved by so many and will be sorely missed.

Funeral services will be held at First Evangelical Lutheran, 728 Villa Street, on Wednesday February 2, 2022, 11:00 a.m., with Rev. John Roeckle officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. To view the service online, visit Eva's page on the funeral home website, www.meredithfuneralhome.com, select visitation/services and then Live Stream.
