Life Story / Obituary
James Anthony Fay Jr., age 75, passed away Monday, April 14, 2025, at his residence. He was born in Racine, WI son of the late James and Lillian (Nee:Statz) Fay.
Jim graduated from Holy Name Catholic School in 1965 and Washington Park High School “Class of 1969”. Following graduation he went on to proudly serve in the U.S. Army stationed in Saigon, Vietnam. Jim was a member of the Vietnam Veterans, AMVETS, and the American Legion. Jim was employed by Midland Container for 38 years retiring in 2011. He was a lifelong member of Holy Name Catholic Church now St. Richard’s Catholic Church and a member of the United Commercial Travelers. James was an avid Cubs and Packers fan. He will be remembered for his sweet nature, beautiful smile, his wry sense of humor, jokes, and wearing all of his Packers shirts at the same time. James treasured time spent with his family and will be dearly missed.
Surviving are his siblings, Lila Solar, Raymond (Marian) Fay; sisters-in-law, Roxanne Fay, Rosemary Fay; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Kathleen; brothers, Michael, Thomas (Diane), Robert and Joseph (infant); and brother-in-law, Steve Solar.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Richard Catholic Church, 1503 Grand Ave, Tuesday, April 22, 2025, 11:00 am with Rev. Ken Mich officiating. Interment with full military honors will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family prior to the Mass 10-11 am.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to AMVETS or the American Legion have been suggested.
The family wishes to thank the staff of the Waterford Senior Living Memory Care and Stacy at Amedisys Hospice Care, as well as Home Care Nursing Services provided by the staff of the Clement Zablocki VA Medical Center. Your help was a great comfort to our family.
