Jeanette Roberson

Jeanette Roberson, age 74, passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022, at UPMC Hamot Medical Center, Erie, PA. She was born in Taylor, Mississippi, September 15, 1947, daughter of the late Tom and Onetha (Nee: Jackson) Martin.

Jeanette had been a resident of Racine since 1965, moving to Erie, PA 2012 to be near family. She was employed by AMC/Chrysler for nearly 20 years, before retirement. While in Racine, Jeanette was an active member of Second Baptist Church, Metropolitan Baptist Church, and New Omega Baptist Church, involved in Women’s Club, Mothers Club, Announcements and volunteering duties. For the past ten years in Erie she was a member of New Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, serving as a Missionary and Trustee. Jeanette was a people person who enjoyed traveling, church activities and being there for those in need. She will be remembered for her smile, kindheartedness and willingness to do for others, before her own self. Above all she treasured the time spent with her family. She was a devoted mother, sister and aunt who will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her son, Michael L. Roberson (fiancée Shuntè); a sister Jaunita Carothers; brother, Apollos Martin, brother-in-law Jim Finley; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jennifer, siblings: four sisters, Gertha Howard, Bernice Finley, Mable Jones, and Ruby McGlown, seven brothers, James Martin, Percy Martin, Ormy Martin, Elihue Martin, Floyd Martin, Lloyd Martin and Eodis Martin.

Visitation will be held at New Omega Baptist Church, 5731 Northwestern Ave, Saturday, July 30, 2022, 10-11 am . A homegoing celebration will follow at 11 am with Pastor Fred L. Richmond Sr. officiating. Interment will be held at Graceland Cemetery.
