JOHNNIE L. LAYMON

SUNRISE- DECEMBER 18, 1950 SUNSET- NOVEMBER 5, 2022

Johnnie L. Laymon, affectionately known as “Plug”, was born in Enterprise Mississippi, on December 18, 1950, to the late Tom and Pinkie Lee (Nee: Price) Laymon. He accepted Christ at an early age, and he was baptized at Fellowship Baptist Church in Enterprise. As a loving and devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, and friend, he loved playing baseball, shooting pool, and hanging with his friends.

God called him home on November 5, 2022, after a long illness.

In addition, to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Nancy Pearl Laymon, his brother Frank Laymon, his niece, Shavon Price, nephew, Billy Ray Price, great nephew, Keontae Stovall.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Roseannah Cornell; his son, Carl Rogers; grandchildren, Rozannah Portis and Talia Henderson all of Racine. His siblings: sister, Daisy Price of Maywood, IL; brothers, Albert “Tom” (Mary) Laymon of Quitman, MS, Joe Laymon of San Ramon, CA, Larry (Patricia) Laymon of Broadview, IL; Aunts, Merida Kirk-Griffey, Lillie Louella Price, and Nancy Cole. Uncle Plug is further survived by many loving nieces, nephews a host of other relatives and many dear friends.

A Memorial Service celebrating Johnnie’s life will be held at the funeral home, Friday, November 11, 2022, at 5:00 P.M. with Rev. Karl McNiel officiating. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation, Friday, 4:00 until time of service at the funeral home.
