Surrounded by his family, Levi Allen, affectionately known as “Bogie”, age 87, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021, at his home. He was born in Junction City, Arkansas, September 27. 1933, son of Will and Vessie (Nee: Jenkins) Allen.

On October 24, 1954 he was united in marriage to Clara Mae Scott and they were blessed with 5 children, Brenda, Marcus, Keith, Craig, and Sibyl. In 1958 they moved to Racine where Levi was employed by J.I. Case Co for over 30 years retiring as an inspector in 1980. Levi was a member and Deacon of Christ Community Church who enjoyed singing with the Male Gospel Chorus. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed playing basketball as a young man and watching anything sports. He was also an avid bible reader, fisherman, grill master, and hunter who enjoyed taking care of his yard. Levi had a sweet tooth and enjoyed going to the Golden Corral. Above all Levi treasured time socializing with friends and family especially with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Levi was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed. Surviving to cherish his memory are his wife of 67 years, Clara; children, Brenda Allen, Keith Allen, and Sibyl Allen; grandchildren, Craig Allen, Timothy Churchwell, Dr. Sekani Allen, Raineen Allen; greatgrandchildren, Mariah Allen, Noah Allen, Isabella Allen, Amaya Churchwell, Marcus Churchwell, Levi Churchwell and Timothy Churchwell III; cousins, Georgia Dale Russ, Billie Ann Rutherford, Belinda Jean Green, Gracie Mae Griffin; childhood friend and in-law, Doris Stewart and other relatives and friends. As an only child he was raised by his his late aunt and uncle Azzie and Ira Stewart. He was also preceded in death by his father, Will Allen; his mother, Vessie Turner; sons, Marcus James Allen, Craig Allen; cousins, Earnest Stewart, Johnnie Stewart, Tyree Stewart, Artis “Stoney” Stewart, Eartha Lee McKamie, Ira Lee Weaver, Diane Jones, Booker T. Stewart, and Mollie Fae Stewart.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home, Friday, July 30, 2021, 12 pm with Pastor Daryn D. Crenshaw officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet prior to the funeral 11am until 12 pm.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staffs at Seasons Hospice, Ascension All Saints, Ridgewood Care Center, and Dr. Chance Lawson, Dr. Yankavic, Dr. Sarah Sharief, and Dr. Kennison for their loving and compassionate care.
