Richard “Dick” Nevin, age 94, passed away Thursday, October 5, 2017 at Racine Commons. He was born in Racine, June 24, 1923, son of the late Patrick and Alice (nee: Wright) Nevin.

Dick graduated from St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1941” and the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He proudly served in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II. On September 17, 1949, he was united in marriage to Ann M. Shimkus. Dick was employed as an accountant with the Hamilton Beach Company and Arvey Corporation. He enjoyed gardening, working on jigsaw puzzles, golfing, traveling and being with his family.

He will be dearly missed by his wife of sixty eight years, Ann; his three daughters, Susan (Chris) Anderson, Jean (John) Becker, Nancy (Dan) Stroman, all of Racine; his grandchildren, Amy (Jeremy) Koleske, Phillip Anderson, Hilary Becker, and Maxwell Stroman; great grandsons, Henry and Ezra Koleske; sister, Sheila Collentine; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Richard Catholic Church, 1503 Grand Avenue, on Friday October 13, 2017, 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Allen Bratkowski officiating. Interment will be held at Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Memorials to St. Catherine’s High School have been suggested.

The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Mark DeCheck, and the staff at Racine Commons and Hospice Alliance for all of their loving and compassionate care.
