Rita Luna Quiroz, age 67, passed away Friday, October 31, 2025, amongst loved ones at UW-Madison Hospital. She was born in Racine, WI on December 27, 1957, daughter of the late Alejos and Patricia (Nee: Luna) Quiroz. Rita graduated from St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1977” and furthered her education taking college courses.

Rita had a strong devotion to God and practiced her faith as a member of St. Matthias Catholic Parish and through her daily praying of the Rosary. Rita will be remembered as a woman whose love was felt in every corner of her life. Her kitchen was always warm, filled with the smell of baking and homemade meals she poured her heart into, never happier than when she was cooking and feeding the people she loved. She enjoyed tending to her garden and giving her time generously through volunteer work, always willing to lend a hand and uplift others with her kindness. Above all, she cherished moments with her family - laughing, sharing stories, and creating memories that will continue to nourish their hearts just as she always did. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, and sister who will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her significant other and father of her children, Ronald Breckler; her daughters, Leticia (Jens) Hansen, Patricia (Kevin) Schultz, Ronda Breckler, Jacqueline (Joshua) Burazin; grandchildren, Bjorn (Miaor) Hansen, Kalina Hansen, Caden, Julian, and Noah Schultz; great grandson Ulf Hansen; siblings, Raymond (Nancie) Quiroz, Mary Ann Escobedo, Thomas (Kelly) Quiroz, Grace (Reynaldo) Belmares, Michael (Rhonda) Quiroz, Ermalinda (Dean) Schroeder; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Alex and Joseph, and nephews, Joey and Malachi.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, November 8, 2025, 10:30 am at St. Matthias Catholic Parish, 9306 W. Beloit Rd, Milwaukee, WI 53227, with Rev. Jerome Herda officiating. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, S22W22890 E Broadway, Waukesha, WI 53186. Relatives and friends may meet at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, 803 Main Street, Racine on Friday, 5-8 pm (Rosary at 7pm) and on Saturday at the Church 9:30 am until 10:30 am (Rosary at 9 am).

Memorials to Ronda Breckler.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to those who walked beside them during this journey. To Dr. Randolph Lipchik, the most amazing human being, pulmonologist, and dear friend. Your compassion, expertise, and unwavering kindness have meant more than words could ever express. To Dr. Jake Decker and Dr. David Gazeley, thank you for your dedication, guidance, and the dignity and care you showed the family every step of the way. To the incredible nurses and doctors at UW–Madison, your skill, patience, and humanity made all the difference in the family’s hardest moments. And to Rhonda Quiroz and Monica Marquez Sanchez, thank you for walking them through the most delicate and emotional process with grace, warmth, and support as they planned their mother’s service. Your guidance brought comfort when they needed it most. They are forever grateful for each of you.
