Rudolph Oscar Schlosser, Jr., 96, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, at Claridge House in Kenosha, Wisconsin.

Born on August 16, 1929, in Chicago, Illinois, Rudy was the son of the late Rudolph Oscar Schlosser and Sarah Mildred Palmer Schlosser. He grew up in Evanston, Illinois, graduating from Evanston Township High School and Northwestern University. A proud Wildcat, he loved wearing Northwestern purple and was a founding member of the Chi Phi fraternity chapter. Shortly after college, he served in the U.S. Army audit office during the Korean War, beginning a lifelong career in accounting that culminated as the international credit manager for Culligan.

Rudy was a man of remarkable precision and immense patience. He possessed an extraordinary memory, famously holding everyone’s phone numbers, addresses, and license plate numbers entirely in his head. This sharp mind also fueled his passion for researching genealogy and recalling detailed ancestral histories.

At home, Rudy was the ultimate fixer who could build or mend almost anything. He was happiest spending time at his workbench, playing games with family and friends, completing the daily sudoku or enjoying something sweet –gingerbread, and his mother's recipe for oatmeal raisin cookies were his favorites.

Rudy was preceded in death by his beloved wife of sixty-one years, Elizabeth "Betty" Rau Schlosser. He is survived by his five children: Kurt Robert (Maureen), Peter Charles (Karen), Rudolph Oscar III (Stephanie), James Raymond (Tracey) Sara Elizabeth Hartian (Tony). He was the cherished grandpa and "Poppa" to ten grandchildren – Jessica, Meagan, Ryan, Mack, Lizzie, Paige, Claire, Bella, Chloe, and Shane – and five great-grandsons, with two more great grandchildren on the way.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Wed June 24, 2026 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with a Celebration of Rudy’s Life Service to start at 11:00 a.m. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
