Allan J. “Big Al” Szymczak, age 78, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday morning, September 15, 2020 at his home. Allan was born in Milwaukee on February 5, 1942, son of the late John and Florence (nee: Sosinski) Szymczak.

Al graduated from Pulaski High School “Class of 1960”. On August 24, 1968, Allan was united in marriage to Joan R. Hauser at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Together they raised two sons and shared fifty-two beautiful years together. He drove truck for various companies in the city through the years. Al was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church. In his spare time, Big Al loved riding his motorcycle with his friends in different motorcycle clubs. He also enjoyed woodworking and working on projects around the home. Above all, Al will be best remembered for the great joy he got from his grandchildren and his great love and devotion to his family.

Al will be dearly missed by his wife Joan; sons, John (Denise) Szymczak, Michael (Tanya) Szymczak; grandchildren, Joshua and Holly, and Keegan; sister, Mary Ann (Dennis) Muth; sister-in-law, Jackie Szymczak; brother-in-law, James (Carole) Hauser; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Allan was also preceded in death by his brother, Jack and infant sister, Diane.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Louis Catholic Church 13207 County RD G, on Wednesday September 23,2020 11:30 a.m., with Rev. Yamid Blanco officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Make-A-Wish of Wisconsin have been suggested. Donations can be made online at http://site.wish.org/goto/szymczak or there will be envelopes at the service.
