Daniel Joseph Zerzanek

Daniel Joseph Zerzanek, age 76, passed away Monday, August 24, 2026, at Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center. He was born in Racine, March 1, 1950, son of the late Rudolph and Mary (Nee: Kroes) Zerzanek.

Dan was a graduate of Wm. Horlick High School, “Class of 1968”. Dan proudly served his country in the U.S. Marines and served in Vietnam. On September 22, 1992, he was united in marriage to Barbara Hess (Nee: Adamski). Dan was a Chemical Processor employed by S.C. Johnson and Son, Inc. for 46 years, until his retirement in 2016. Dan was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, camping and spending time at his home at Lake Arrowhead, Rome WI. He also enjoyed playing bingo and found pleasure in starting his days with his coffee buddies.

He was loved dearly and will be sadly missed by his wife, Barbara, of 34 years; his children, Carrie Prondzinski (William Boutell), Scott (Kearston) Zerzanek, Tracy Hess, Randee (Scott) Ennis; grandchildren, Tyler and Abby Prondzinski, Kallie Boutell, Hallee (Nick) Winchel, Jarrin Ramig, Ryan, Ashlee and Kaylee Ennis, Rachel, Zoe and Mikah Zerzanek; great grandchildren, Braxton, Finlee and Sophee Winchel; siblings, Kathy (David) Horvath, Randall (Tara) Zerzanek, Greg (Zana) Zerzanek, Leslie (Bart) Stefani. Also surviving; nieces, nephews, in-laws, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Rudy Zerzanek, Judy Tomachek, Linda (Jim) Christensen and his niece Jodi Zanis.

A Memorial Mass celebrating Dan’s life will be held at 11:30 am, Wednesday September 16, 2026, at St. Rita Catholic Church, 4339 Douglas Ave., Racine, WI. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation, Wednesday at 10:00 am until time of Mass at the church. Military Honors will immediately follow mass. Private interment will be held at Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, town of Dover.
