David Allan Braun “Hubie”, age 65, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday July 10, 2021, at his residence. David was born in Racine on May 4, 1956, son of the late Donald and Josephine (nee: Malanche) Braun.

After high school, David proudly served in the U.S. Marines. Following his years in service, he was employed with Racine Unified for thirty-four years before retiring. He also helped operate Bailey’s Pub North with his family. On October 3, 1998, he was united in marriage to Renee Bergeron. A prolific golfer, Hubie was well known throughout the golf community in Racine. He also enjoyed his many friends in his pool and softball leagues. Hubie was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers, Milwaukee Bucks and Chicago Cubs. Hubie will be best remembered for his sense of humor, his smile, and his tremendous love for his family, especially his grandchildren.

David will be dearly missed by his loving wife of twenty-three years, Renee; children, Jason (Clarissa) Braun, Robert Lizotte ( fiancée, Jaimie Foster), Michelle (Alejandro) Trevino; grandchildren, Savannah and Liliana Braun, Ava Jo and Owen Lizotte, Logan Trevino with baby Trevino on the way; brother, Michael Braun; sister, Billie Jo Dahse; sisters-in-law, Lynn (Bryan) Chobanian, Linda (Junior) Fruge; nieces and nephews, Kyle (Becca) Thellefsen, Alexandria (Vince) Moran, Zoe Dahse, Peyton Dahse, Alex (Deborah) Chobanian, Taylor (Dominic) Panico, Daniel Chobanian, Jimmy Zipfel, Joey (Amelia) Zipfel, Robert (Elise) Fruge and Samantha (Kevin) Barnhill; cousins, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, Hubie was also preceded in death by his sister, Linda Braun; brother, Mark Braun; and niece, Tonya Guerra.

There will be visitation at the funeral home on Saturday July 17, 2021, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with a remembering service celebrating and honoring Hubie’s life to start at 6:00 p.m. Full Military Honors will follow.
