Dorothy Louise Salvo, age 95, passed away peacefully at home, Wednesday, May 9, 2018. She was born in Peshtigo, WI, February 15, 1923, daughter of the late John and Louise (Nee: Chromiak) Czarnecki and had resided in Racine most of her life.

On June 22, 1946, she married Harry L. Salvo at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church and together they had 8 children. Harry preceded her in death in 1990. Dorothy was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, playing cards, and visiting her family. In her earlier years she was a member of the Johnson Park Women’s Golf Club, the Humble Park Monday Club, the Shoops Golf Club and the Ives Women’s Golf Club. She will be dearly missed.

Surviving are Harry (Elizabeth) Salvo of Severna Park, MD, Michael (Jeanne) Salvo of Green Bay, WI, Edward (Janet) Salvo of Denton, TX, Barbara Salvo of Plano, TX, Mary Salvo of Sanford, NC, Joseph (Cathie) Salvo of Loudon, TN, Richard (Mary Beth) Salvo of Cary, IL, Dorothy (Charles) Hawes of Stanfield, NC; grandchildren: Erika, Kara, Glenn, Wendy, Robert, James, Charles, Nicholas, Bryana, Brandon, and Bailey; great grandchildren: Desmond, Donovan, Molly, Ben and Clara; sister, Frances Dresen of Racine, WI; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by siblings, Victoria Buckson, Francis Charnon, Anthony Charnon, Anna Moran, Theresa Kristof, Barbara Charnon, Michael Charnon, Peter Charnon, and Walter Charnon.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St., Tuesday, May 15, 2018, 11:00 A.M. with Reverend Yamid Blanco officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet Tuesday at the church 10:00 A.M. until time of Mass. Memorials to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Racine, WI.
