Esther (Nee: Paul) Andersen, 88, of Mount Pleasant passed away at her residence on June 21, 2018. Esther was born in Racine on August 25, 1929 and was the daughter of the late Andrew and Rose (Nee: Williams) Paul.

On September 18, 1950, Esther was united in marriage to Henry A. Andersen and they enjoyed 67 years of marriage together. She was employed at Getty’s Manufacturing Company, Hamilton Beach Company and Howard Industries.

In their younger days, Esther and Henry enjoyed sharing their boat with friends and relatives on Lake Michigan. Their adventures took them on many trips together to Europe and throughout the U.S.A. Esther and Henry enjoyed their home and backyard where they spent many hours planting and taking care of the beautiful flowers and plants that were enjoyed by many friends and family members. Their love of animals was quite evident in the way they cared for their pet cats.

She will be dearly missed by her husband, Henry A. Andersen, sister, Elaine (Norman) McInnis; sister-in-law, Marie Paul; nieces Joanne (Lance) McGuire, Joyce Jelinek, Darcy (Keith) Matus, Renee Teddy, Gail (Jim) Whittier, Laura (John) Knoch, Kathy (Steve) Kaplan and Alicia (Kelly) Masters, Donna Schaff, Dyan Schaff. She is further survived by her great-nephews Eric and Jeremy Matus, David and Lee (Fiancé Morgan) Teddy, Grant Whittier, Kolton Knoch, Seth Kaplan and Jameson Masters as well as her great-nieces Corrine Lawler, Brenna Knoch, Taryn Kaplan, Sophia Masters, and Ashley Zimmerman; other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters, Annabelle Paul, Rose (Alvin) Jelinek, Mary (Anthony) Macko and Linda Paul; brothers, Andy and George Paul; nephew, Gary Macko; and niece, Dana Paul.

Funeral services will be held at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, 803 Main Street, Racine on Thursday, June 28, 2018 at 11:00 A.M with Pastor John Fleming officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Thursday at the funeral home from 9:30 A.M. until the time of the service at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be held at Graceland Cemetery.
