Richard A. “Rick” Goodare, age 64, passed away on Wednesday June 16, 2021. Richard was born in Kenosha on June 9, 1957, son of Eugene and Gail (nee: Jensen) Goodare.

Rick graduated from Bradford High School “Class of 1975” and later earned a degree in Mechanical Engineering. Through the years, Rick used his ability to fix machinery while employed with A&E Mfg., Bradley Corporation, Specialty Tapes and lastly at Shiloh Mfg. before retiring. He also owned and operated Merlin Muffler and Brakes for ten years. Rick’s best days occurred when he welcomed his children, Jonathan (1992) and Jennifer (1994) into this world. On September 7, 2019, he was united in marriage to Jennifer Beighton in Franklin, WI. To this union, Rick was blessed with two stepchildren, James and Michael and four grandchildren. A car enthusiast, Rick would refurbish classic cars and was a member of Memories Car Club. He shared his passion for cars with his son, Jonathan, and loved the many hours working on cars together, a passion that Jonathan continues to this day. Rick will be remembered fondly for his love of playing with his grandchildren, cooking, grilling, his smile, generosity, and his great love for his family.

Rick will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Jennifer; children, Jonathan (Amanda) Goodare, Jennifer Goodare; grandson, Bryson Goodare; mother, Gail Krok; sisters, Laura (Joseph) Bydalek, Nancy (Marc) Rosenthal, Tracy Goodare (Dennis Holden); stepchildren, James Beighton and Michael Pichler; four step grandchildren; former wife and mother of his children, Carol Goodare; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Rick was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Goodare and his stepfather who was instrumental in his life, Howard Krok.

Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the funeral home on Wednesday June 23, 2021, from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. with a service celebrating Rick’s life to start at 12:00 p.m. A reception will follow.
