Surrounded by his loving family, Robert “Unkl Bob” A. Schuster, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2018 following a courageous battle with leukemia. He was born in Mt. Pleasant, May 5, 1928, second youngest of fourteen children, born to John and Mary (Nee: Ripson) Schuster. He was raised on the family farm on Highway KR.

He attended Holy Name Catholic Grade School and later was employed there as their custodian. Bob was a dedicated employee of S.C. Johnson Wax for thirty years. Following retirement Bob joined the Meredith family at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home where he served the Racine community with compassion and dignity for the next twenty years. Bob was a lifetime faithful member of St. Richard Catholic Church (formerly Holy Name) where he served as past president of the Holy Name Society and usher for many years. In his spare time he enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and watching Packer games. He was especially thrilled to visit Lambeau Field with his family for the first time this past year. Always a farmer at heart, Bob would rise early and frequent restaurants throughout Racine socializing with friends and spreading cheer wherever he went. He will be fondly remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor and most of all his great love and devotion to his family.

Bob will be sadly missed by his children, Daniel Schuster of Kenosha, Nancy Schuster of Kenosha, Dianne (Todd) Schueppler of Sturtevant; his grandchildren, Kyle Schueppler, Nicholas Schueppler, Michael Kangas, Kailyn (Gavin) Aker; five great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his thirteen siblings: Frank, Lucille, Theresa, Dorothy, Eleanor, Helen, Edith, Joseph, Mary, Albert, Anna May, Fred, and Richard.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 27, 2018, 10:00 A.M. at St. Richard Catholic Church, 1503 Grand Avenue, with Rev. Ron Gramza officiating. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Garden Mausoleum, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Friday at the funeral home from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. and Saturday at the church from 9:30 A.M. until time of Mass at 10:00 A.M.

A special thank you to Dr. Syed Hassan and staff at Ascension Cancer Center, and Ascension nurses on 3B for their loving and compassionate care.
