Andre’ David Franklin Sr., age 50, was born May 20, 1969, in Waukegan, IL, son of Fairy Bell Franklin and Luman Greathouse. He departed this life on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Froedtert Hospital South, Kenosha. Andre’ acknowledged Jesus Christ as his personal savior and united with Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church of Zion, IL where he remained a member until his death.

He graduated from Zion-Benton Township High School, “Class of 1987” and furthered his education earning degrees in Culinary Arts, Photography and Business Management. He proudly served in the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne Division during Desert Shield, Desert Storm and the Gulf War. On July 22, 1995, at Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Zion, IL he was united in marriage to the love of his life, LaQuitta S. Cole. Andre’ was a member of the National Supreme Council Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite of Free Masonry active in St. John Grand Lodge in which he was the Grand Deputy Inspector General of Wisconsin. Photography was his art and passion, he owned and operated 2Tight Productions. He was also a chef, a history buff, enjoyed singing, playing and watching sports, traveling and living life. More than anything he treasured time spent with family and friends, working within his craft, and giving back to the community.

He leaves to celebrate his “Home Going”, his wife, LaQuitta Franklin, five children, Andre’ Franklin Jr., Danyel Moore, Adrian Franklin, Nichalas (Dayishaunna) Franklin, D’Angela Franklin; three grandchildren, Aniya Moore, Kennedy and Mason Martin; mother-in-law, Gizell Cole; in-laws, Latrisha Cole, William (Keeya) Cole, Jr.; sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, many relatives and dear friends.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Arthur Lee “Big Dad” Franklin, Sr. grandmother Willie B. Franklin, mother Fairy B. Franklin, father Luman Greathouse, aunt Sandra Smith, father-in-law William Cole, Sr., son Christopher D. Franklin, brother Melvin Greathouse, sister Sherine L. Gorman, and brother-in-law, Tyrone L. Cole.

A Homegoing celebration will be held Saturday, December 14, 2019, 11:00 A.M. at North Point Church, 900 Lewis Avenue, Winthrop Harbor, IL 60096 with Reverend Joseph Pipes officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M.

This by far is the most difficult time for me. A huge part of my heart has been ripped apart. We have been together over half of our lives. Therefore, my healing will take time. With loving and grateful hearts the Franklin family wishes to express their sincere gratitude and deepest appreciation to our many relatives and dear friends for all expressions of kindness.
