Beree Ann Nelson

Beree Ann “Barbara” Nelson, age 82, passed away at the Hospice House in Pleasant Prairie on Wednesday February 9, 2022. Beree was born in Chicago, IL on May 16, 1939, daughter of the late Clifford and Edna (nee: Privia) Nelson.

Beree graduated from the University of Illinois-Chicago with a degree in Art. In her younger years, Beree was employed as a model and substitute teacher. A talented artist, she created many beautiful acrylic oil art pieces. She enjoyed breeding Shih tzu dogs, gardening and her travels through Europe and Thailand. Beree became very involved with the Olympia Brown Unitarian Universalist Church in Racine, where she made many deep friendships, and was involved with various social activism issues.

Beree will be dearly missed by her siblings, Sandra Nelson, Charles Nelson and Deborah Dahley; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A service celebrating Beree’s life will be held at a later date.
