Carole Ann Peterson

Carole Ann (nee: Burkhardt) Peterson, age 72, passed away on May 31st, 2022, in Naples, Italy.

Born in Lindenhurst, N.Y., on July 6th, 1949, to John and Cecelia (nee: Ankiewicz) Burkhardt, she graduated from Lindenhurst High School in 1967. On June 11, 1969, Carole was united in marriage to Francis C. Peterson II and raised 3 children Francis, Tracy, and Christopher. After operating a successful roofing company with her husband for 23 years, Carole later earned her teaching degree from Florida Atlantic University and went on to teach elementary school age children in Idaho. Carole enjoyed spending her free time with family, reading, knitting, traveling, and volunteering in her local community. She loved animals and will be remembered for her sense of humor as well as her kind and loving nature.

Carole is survived by her loving family: Francis C. Peterson II, husband of 42 years; Children: Francis Peterson III, Tracy (Peterson) Pantino, Christopher Peterson; Grandchildren: Sydney Peterson, Nicholas Peterson, Sadie Peterson, Samantha Pantino; Sister: Linda (Burkhardt) Lohrer.

A memorial service will be held at St. Sebastian’s Church, 3126 95th Street, Sturtevant, July 1st at 11:00 a.m.
