Life Story / Obituary
Caroline Ann Jarstad, 98, passed away peacefully on March 20, 2025, In her youngest daughter's home in Naples Florida.Caroline was born in Racine with her twin brother Karl to Peter & Jennie (nee: Wiza) Ciborowski on October 2, 1926.
She lived most of her life in Racine County where she enjoyed vegetable gardening, canning all her home grown-vegetables, the Milwaukee Brewers, the Green Bay Packers, bowling, being on a pool league, her poker games and going to the Casinos. She was a wonderful seamstress for years making her kids (even into adulthood) and grandkids all their Halloween costumes.
Caroline moved to Naples, FL. In 2007 where she enjoyed traveling, beach trips for her shelling & having friends & family stay with her at her new condo. Above and beyond her favorite thing was family, always the number one priority. She met the love of her life being a pen pal with Ardell J. Jarstad who was stationed in the Army with her brother Frank. Ardell & Caroline then were united in marriage on April 3, 1948, at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church. They were married for 51 years until the passing of her beloved Ardell.
Caroline is survived by her children, Linda Hess, Gary (Mary) Jarstad, Dennis Jarstad, Donna (Jeff) Reed, Barbie (Dan) Nelson; grandchildren, Nicholas (Cesar) Hess, Leslie Hess, Jason (Angela) Hess, Courtney (Darren) Baalke, AshleyJarstad, Tracy (Jason) Glodowski, Kelly Jarstad, Matthew (Leah) Jarstad, Tony (Kristi) Reed, Jennifer (Joseph) Tenuta, Sammy Jo (John) Mannering, Joey Nelson. Also eighteen great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, brother Dick (Connie) Chilla, brother-in-law, Chuck Dhennin, special friend Audrey Baron along with many nieces, nephews & numerous lifetime friends of her children.
She was preceeded in death by father, Peter Ciborowski, Nick (Jennie) Chilla; great grandson, Vincent Alan Reed, son-in-law Willard Hess, daughter-in-law Dorothy Jarstad and brothers and sisters; twin brother Karl (Jean) Ciborowski, Al (Alice) Ciborsky, Frank (Dorothy) Ciborowski, Bernice Dhennin, Agnes (Ed) Klasinski, Chet (Evelyn) Chilla, Ray Chilla, Clara Chilla; nephew, Tommy Ciborowski, Pat (Rich) Selerski.
Funeral Services celebrating Caroline’s life will be held at 11:00 am, at the funeral home, Monday, March 31, 2025. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy. 32. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation on Monday at 10:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.
A very special thanks to her daughter Barbie Nelson and her daughter-in-law, Mary Jarstad who took the time to unselfishly be her main caregivers.
