Carolyn "CJ or Ms. J" Jackson passed on peacefully late Wednesday January 24th at home with loved ones by her side.

A Memorial Service celebrating Carolyn’s life will be held at the funeral home, 12:00 pm, Saturday, February 17, 2024. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation Saturday, 11:00 am until time of service. Immediately following the service all are welcome to a LIFE CELEBRATION PARTY for a life well lived & thoroughly enjoyed across the street at Preservation Hall. All who knew and loved her are welcome to appreciate & commiserate! If you are not able to attend the service please join us for the Party.

Carolyn was born September 21st, 1947, grew up in Louisiana, the daughter of Lee Aubrey, a business owner, and Mildred, a homemaker involved in the church. She was the eldest of four, with 2 brothers and a sister. She attended Southern University in Baton Rouge LA and graduated from Dominican College in Racine. She also attended both UW Whitewater and UW Madison, achieving a Master's +24. She had been married to Edward Smith for almost 30 years prior to their divorce, and they had one daughter Alicia (Toni). She was an accomplished flautist who loved to dance. She was also an avid football fan who worked with the Chicago Bears organization for many years. She devoted her life to teaching & helping kids, becoming an integral part of Racine Unified School District for over 40 years and the Fine Arts Steven Bull Magnet School for over 30 of those.

She joins her parents, brother Aubrey "Bobo" Jackson, and nephew Dante Jackson, and is survived by her daughter Alicia, former husband Edward, her brother Johnny Jackson (Linda), sister Wanda Shelton (Vernon), nieces Jennifer and Brandi, nephew Aubrey Jr, and many other loving relatives.

She is forever in our hearts & smiles. We love & miss you Mommy! Foreva eva... oxo
