Cecelia M. "Cecil" Jacoby

Cecelia Marie “Cecil ”Jacoby, age 72, passed away suddenly on Tuesday October 21, 2025 at her residence. Cecelia was born in Racine on October 9, 1953, daughter of the late Raymond and Helena (nee: Mertens) Murphy.

Cecelia graduated from JI Case High School “Class of 1972”. In her younger years, she marched in the color guard with The Regals and the Liberty Belles marching bands. An excellent athlete, Cecil played city league softball and bowled and played pool for different leagues. Cecil was employed with In-Sink-Erator for thirty-eight years before retiring. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, watching the Packers and wrestling, and testing her luck on her trips to Laughlin, NV. Cecil will be best remembered for great love and devotion to her family and friends.

Cecil will be dearly missed by her partner of thirty-six years, Connie Zakowski; her son, Chad (Julie Ann) Jacoby; grandchildren, Erin Ambrose, Cassandra Ambrose and Gavin Brown; great grandchildren, Jayce Miller and Jayden Ambrose; siblings, Paula Haag and Michael (Kathleen) Murphy; brother-in-law, C. John Mata; sister-in-law, Karon Murphy; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, Cecil was also preceded in death by her siblings, Josephine Mata and George Murphy; and her brother-in-law, Walter Haag.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday October 30, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. with a Celebration of Cecil’s Life Service to start at 5:00 p.m.
