Cheryl Lynn DeFord

Cheryl Lynn DeFord, age 69, passed away unexpectedly Friday, October 23, 2026, at her residence. She was born in Racine, WI, October 1, 1957, daughter of the late Theodore and Maryjane (Nee: Petrose) Jacoby.

Cheryl graduated from Wm Horlick High School “Class of 1975”. She had been employed at PHAR-MOR Pharmacy for 14years. On June 21, 2003, she was united in marriage to Duane A. DeFord. Cheryl enjoyed time spent will her family and especially her grandchildren. Above all she treasured time spent with her family especially trips to Florida.

Surviving are her husband, Duane; sons, Bryan (Jenny), Bradley (Laurie); grandchildren, Brayden Groth, Aubrey Mueller; other family and lifeline friends, Julie Lynch, Terri Leow, and Jen Erickson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter Tricia Poikonen.

Funeral services will be held at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, 803 Main St., Monday, November 2, 2026, 11 am with Deacon Eloy Contreras officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Kinzie Ave. Relatives and friends may meet prior to the service 10-11 am.
