Life Story / Obituary
Christi Claire Beerntsen, age 72, passed away at her residence peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, April 15, 2024. She was born in Racine on March 14, 1952, daughter of the late Clarence and Mildred (née Nielsen) Beerntsen.
Christi received her undergraduate degree from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA from Marquette University. She was employed as Senior Technology Manager at AT&T for 27 years until her retirement in 2001. Christi had a passion for ethnic music and dance; dancing with the Racine International Folk Dancers especially brought her joy. Most of all, she cherished spending time with her family and friends.
She was loved dearly and will be sadly missed by her sister Patricia Patriarca; brother-in-law John Carbonneau; nieces and nephews Traci Verwey (Ray Verwey), Jeff Patriarca, Dwayne Carbonneau, Deanne Carbonneau, Tim Patriarca (James Wang); grand-niece Amanda Verwey and grand-nephew Shane Verwey; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Joanne Carbonneau and brother-in-law Frank Patriarca.
A celebration of Christi’s life will be held at the Maresh Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home at 11 am on Tuesday, April 23. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation starting at 10 am until time of service. Private interment will be held at Maple Hill Cemetery in Evansville, WI. Memorials to the Racine Zoo, Riverbend Nature Center or Music and More have been suggested by the family.
