Surrounded by her loving family, Claire J. Erickson, age 71, passed away Tuesday, June 10, 2014 at her residence. Claire was born in Milwaukee, WI, June 8, 1943, daughter of the late Eugene and Eleanor (Nee: Fails) Brown.

Claire was a graduate of Wauwatosa East High School “Class of 1961”. On February 24, 1962 she was united in marriage to Harold R. Erickson. Claire was employed at Piggly Wiggly for twenty years until her retirement in 2002. Claire enjoyed her home, gardening, camping, historical recreation during the French Indian War Period, and attending concerts and plays with her friends. Most of all she treasured time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed.

Survivors include her loving husband of fifty-two years, Harold; her children, Nils (Mary) Erickson of Lansing, Kansas, Kirsten Erickson of Bartlett, IL, Karri Preston (Ken) Ekert of Watertown, WI; her grandchildren, Stephan, Anna, Emily, Keegan, Max, and Madeline; brothers and sister, Robert Brown of TN, John Brown of Milwaukee, Kathleen Brown of Iowa; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Schrequest.

A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, June 14, 2014, 11:00 A.M. at St. Louis Catholic Church, 13207 County Road G, Caledonia, with Rev. Mark Danczyk officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the church from 9:30 A.M. until time of Mass at 11:00 A.M. Private entombment will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Town of Dover. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Louis Catholic Church, Fisher House Wisconsin, or to the Wounded Warrior Project have been suggested.
