Claude Lee Hamilton, age 84, passed away Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at Ascension All Saints Hospital. He was born in Okolona, Mississippi, January 12,1937, son of the late Willie and Mary (Nee:Bogan) Hamilton. He was a resident of Racine since 1956. He attended high school in Okolona, Mississippi. Claude was united in marriage to Dorothy L. Curtis who passed away February 27, 2005. He later married Annie M. McGee who passed away in 2014.

Claude was a barber for over 50 years and owned and operated Sir Claude’s Barber Shop. He enjoyed playing his guitar, singing with the Hamilton Singers, and cutting hair. Claude loved playing 10,000 after cursing the dice out, and folks too! He was an excellent cook and an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He will be dearly missed.

Surviving to cherish his memory are his children, Claude B. (Mary) Hamilton Jr. of Racine, Arquincy Hamilton of Tupelo, MS, Claude L. (Norma) Hamilton III. of Racine, and Eric Britton of CA; eleven grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; five sisters, Idella Hargrove, Dessie Morris, Rosie Riley, Elvira Bumpus, and Ruby Hamilton; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, dear friend, and a special person, Sherika Moore. In addition to his parents and wives, he was preceded in death by two brothers, three sisters, and a special friend Terri Cameron.

A memorial service will be held at First United Methodist Church, 745 Main Street, Thursday, January 6, 2021, 11am with Pastor Melvin Hargrove officiating. Relatives and friends may meet prior to the service 10-11am.
