Connie Mae Damaschke

Connie Mae Damaschke (nee: Nemeth), born April 6, 1945, passed away on August 23, 2026, surrounded by her loving family after listening to one final worship service with her husband, Don.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and LaVerne, and her sisters, Alice and Joyce (Wayne Franzen). She is survived by her brother Richard (Cherl); her husband Donald, their three sons and eight grandchildren: Donald, his wife Melissa and children Margaret, Donald (Alyssah), Corrin and Anna; Robert, his wife Karin and children Maxwell (Alexa) and Abigail; and Kelly, his wife Paula and daughters Chloe and Claudia (Alek Severson).

Connie graduated from Union Grove High School and gained further education at Franklin Boulevard Hospital in Chicago to become a certified x-ray technician. She later used that skill to x-ray her husband and all three of her sons.

On December 15, 1963, Connie met the love of her life, Don, when he jumped out of an airplane skydiving to go on a blind date with her. They knew they were meant to be right away and were married April 23, 1966. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary at Ridgewood nursing home earlier this year.

Connie was an outgoing, positive person who loved life and enjoyed befriending everyone she met. She was a light for Jesus, spreading the good news even at the nursing home. No matter what life threw at her, she always knew it was going to get better.

She loved vacationing with her family in Door County and bringing back rocks and trees; cruises and beaches in Florida; downhill skiing and scuba diving; painting ceramics; gardening barefoot; playing solitaire and mahjong; and watching church every Sunday when she couldn't make it in person. She took great pride in all the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren and loved watching them live their lives to the fullest, just as she did.
