David Allen Ostergaard

David Allen Ostergaard, age 84, passed away peacefully March 3, 2022, at his home with his family beside him. He was born in Racine July 15, 1937 to Aage and Luella (Nee: Jensen) Ostergaard.

David grew up in West Racine, attended the local schools and the original Calvary Memorial Church. As a teenager, in his first employment he joined his father and older brother at the well-known Progressive Dairy. On July 5, 1958, he was united in marriage to Evadine Barnes. They were blessed with four sons. David was employed by Advance Transportation for 30 years, retiring in 1993 to Winter Haven, FL. He and Evadine enjoyed eight years in Winter Haven, then returned to Racine to be close to family. David enjoyed golfing, bicycling, remodeling homes and landscaping. He treasured time spent with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather who will be dearly missed.

Surviving is his wife of 64 years, Evadine and sons, David Lee (Donna), James (Deborah) Thomas (Robin) and Richard Ostergaard, ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. Sister-in-law Georgia Barnes, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Harley (Sally) and Lloyd Ostergaard.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home Saturday, March 12, 2022, 10 a.m. with Reverend Patrick Faulk officiating. Relatives and friends may meet at 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. followed by the funeral service. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.
