David Miles Perkins, age 75, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2024, at his residence. He was born in Racine, February 11, 1949, son of the late Charles Elliot and Barbara Jean (Nee: Miles) Perkins.

David was a graduate of Park High School, “Class of 1967”. He furthered his education and graduated from DePauw University in 1971. It was during the summer of 1970 when David met the love of his life, Cathy, on the University’s Art History tour of Western Europe. “Cathy chased David shamelessly on this trip, until he caught her!” On May 27, 1972, David was united in marriage to Catherine Talbot Cann.

He received his master’s in business administration (MBA) in 1974 from Marquette University which afforded him many leadership opportunities in and around Racine which gave him great pride. David joined Racine Federated Inc, in 1986 and served in varying leadership rolls culminating with his retirement in 2013, where he was serving as President & CEO. Dave held numerous volunteer positions within the community, most notably serving as Chairman of Racine Areas Manufacturers and Commerce (RAMAC), Chairman of All Saints Healthcare/Wheaton Franciscan System, President of Racine Community Foundation, President of YMCA and actively involved with Racine Healthcare Network and Racine Community Foundation. He was a longtime, proud member of the Somerset Club and the Racine Country Club. He had a great love of reading, traveling, golfing and was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and all things European Football (soccer). Above all it was time spent with his family that he cherished most.

David was loved dearly and will be sadly missed by his wife, Cathy; sons, Chariie (Amy) Perkins, Dave (Melissa) Perkins Jr; grandchildren, Caroline, Anna, Stella, and Myles Perkins; sister-in-law, Susan (Thomas) Perkins, brother-in-law, William (Susan) Cann; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parent’s he was preceded in death by his brother Charles “King”.

A Memorial Service celebrating David’s life will be held at 11:30 am, Thursday, March 21, 2024, at First Presbyterian Church, 716 College Ave. with Rev. Darren Utley officiating. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation, Thursday, 10:00 until time of service at the church. Memorials to the Healthcare Network have been suggested by the family.
