Dennis W. Rogan, 82, of Mt. Pleasant, WI, passed away on August 17, 2024. Born on 02/25/1942 in Superior, WI, he was the beloved son of the late William and Jeanette Rogan (nee Havemann). Dennis was a proud Vietnam War veteran who answered the call to serve his country voluntarily, demonstrating remarkable courage and dedication. He rose to the rank of captain during his military career and was awarded the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 4 Bronze Service Stars, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Bronze Star Medal and Army Commendation Medal w/1 Oak Leaf Cluster.

After his honorable military service, Dennis built a successful career in the corporate world, bringing the same sense of duty and commitment to his professional life. A man of diverse interests, he was an avid reader with an insatiable curiosity. Dennis loved to learn, constantly expanding his knowledge on a wide range of subjects, which enriched his conversations and deepened his understanding of the world around him.

One of Dennis's greatest joys was cooking for his family and friends. His eyes would light up with joy and his smile would beam whenever family visited. Dennis also enjoyed watching football games, baseball games, horse racing, and found solace in camping. Yellowstone National Park held a special place in his heart; he often spoke of the awe he felt watching Old Faithful's clockwork eruptions and the peace he found amid the park's sweeping vistas and diverse wildlife.

Above all, Dennis cherished his role as a family man. He often said that his children were his greatest accomplishment in life. As he grew older, family became the center of his world, and he ensured that everyone felt loved and valued.

Dennis is survived by his children: Jacqueline Morris (Steve) of Chino Valley, AZ; William of Surprise, AZ; Daniel (Mona) of Waukesha, WI; and Joan Zimmermann (Todd) of Oconomowoc, WI. He also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren: Ryan Zimmerman of Chandler, AZ; Nicholas DeLeon (A.J.) of Waukesha, WI; Sara Orth (Michael) of Oconomowoc, WI; Stephanie Hixon (Daniel) of Phoenix, AZ; Jessica Rogan of Mukwonago, WI; and Devon Rogan of Waukesha, WI. Dennis was a proud great-grandfather to Lili and Adylyn DeLeon of Waukesha, WI, and Debi Hixon of Phoenix, AZ.

He is further survived by his siblings: Robert (Noreen) of Yonkers, NY; Barbara Rogan and Peggy Rogan of Waukesha, WI; and Mary Helgerson (widow of Tom) of Mt. Pleasant, WI. Dennis was preceded in death by his parents and his sisters Patricia Lenz (Willard) of Ft. Atkinson, WI, and Kathy (Paul) Hoffman of Waukesha, WI.

Funeral services with full military honors will be held at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 21731 Spring St, Union Grove, Thursday, September 5, 2024, 11 am. Please meet at the entrance to the cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund.
