Donna Mae Brekke, Age 88 passed away Wednesday July 9th, 2025, at St. Monica's Senior living. Donna was born in Crystal Falls Michigan on June 1, 1937, daughter of the late Earl and Mary (Konwinski) Axelson.

On April 19, 1958, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church she was united in marriage to Floyd D Brekke who preceded her in death on February 15, 2005. Donna was a homemaker who enjoyed her family, she was known for thoughtful gifts chosen specifically for the recipient, always wrapped to perfection. She loved making holidays special, sometimes with silly glasses or hats which she carried that tradition on with her to St. Monica's where she was known for wearing her cute hats, scarves and sunglasses! She loved when her grandchildren and her great grandson took turns stopping over to visit her so they could fill her in on what was current in their lives. We will all miss her dearly.

Survivors include her two children, Sandra Modrow (Richard Cole), David (Patricia) Brekke, grandchildren, Austin and Emily Modrow, Samuel (Aubry) Brekke, Jordan Brekke, Great Grandson Brayden Modrow, Brother-in-law and sister-in-law Duane (Joan) Brekke, brother-in-law Frank Douthit, sister-in-law Arlene Axelson, nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sister-in-law Pam Brekke, brothers Richard, Ward, and Bruce Axelson, her sister Pat Douthit, her twin nephews Tim and Tony Wolf and her special girl, Cinder the cat.

A special thank you to St. Croix Hospice and to St. Monica's Staff for their compassionate care especially in her final hours.

Private services have been held with entombment at Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.

Memorials to St. Monica's Senior living have been suggested.
