Dwayne Everett Russell Carr was born on January 22, 1980, in Racine, Wisconsin, to Tresia Carr and Ervin Marshall. Tragically, Dwayne passed away on December 6, 2024, as the result of a hit-and-run car accident. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was baptized in faith.

Affectionately known as “K P DaGod,” Dwayne was a loving, caring, and gentle soul who touched the lives of everyone he met. He had an unwavering devotion to his family, often asking, “You good?” as a sign of his deep concern for their well-being. He had a special love for children and always made time to engage with them, spreading joy and positivity wherever he went.

Dwayne was educated in the Racine Unified School District. He earned his H.S.E.D. and later completed a certification in Networking and Telecommunications from Metropolitan Lab College in Denver, Colorado. Most recently, he was pursuing a degree in Business Management at Gateway Technical College in Racine, Wisconsin, with dreams of opening a business to serve his community.

Throughout his life, Dwayne was employed at several local companies, including O&H Bakery, Pioneer Products, BRP, and LOGO Plastics in Sturtevant, Wisconsin. He was a dedicated and hardworking employee, valued and respected by all his employers.

Dwayne’s memory will be cherished by many, including his children: son Zamarion Carr and daughter DaNay Kirby. He is survived by his parents, Tresia (Earl) Carr-Funderburg and Ervin (Lavon) Marshall, as well as his stepfather, Leroy Payne Sr. He is also survived by his grandparents, William and Cynthia Wilson; his sisters, Twyla (James) Carr-Love, Tamara Carr, Brittany Marshall, Lateisha Marshall, Tierra Marshall, Ashante Marshall, Victoria Carr, Taleesha Mangum, and Shontaya Mundy; and his brother, Leroy “Gizzy” Payne Jr. One grandchild, Aubree Kirby.

Dwayne is further survived by his aunts, Alice Bailey, Shawnika Newby, and Tonie Wilson; his uncles, Joseph Carr and Scott Wilson; and special cousins Veronica Lezine, Wilbur Saffells, and Alicia Harris. He leaves behind his great-nephew, Jimmie “J3” Carter III, his great-niece, NaZiah Gordon, and a host of other family members and friends who loved him dearly.

Dwayne was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joseph and Betty Carr Sr., his grandmother, Minnie Marshall, and his uncle, Brian Bailey.

Dwayne’s love, compassion, and infectious smile will be forever remembered by all who knew him.

Funeral Services celebrating Dwayne’s life will be held at the funeral home, 3:00 PM, Saturday, December 21, 2024, with Rev. Yusef Buckley officiating. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation on Saturday at 2:00 PM until time of service at the funeral home. Private interment will be held at Graceland Cemetery.
