Eddie Lee Simpson

Eddie Simpson was born on March 6, 1938, in West Memphis, Arkansas, to the late Dora Balden and William Simpson. He transitioned from his earthly home to his heavenly home on October 7, 2025.

In 1987, he married Ginnett Moore, and together they shared 38 years of marriage. He was previously married to Vida (Williams) Simpson, the mother of seven of his children.

He carried his faith quietly but consistently, a man of integrity and peace.

Eddie was a homebody who enjoyed family, good conversation, and watching sports. He loved drawing, painting, playing his harmonica, and proudly shared stories of meeting Muhammad Ali.

He worked at Case for over 34 years before retiring in November 1991. Even after retirement, he stayed active by driving for Durham School Services and running his own business, E & G Lawn Care, alongside his brother and grandsons, serving the elderly community.

Eddie was a man of respect, honor, and wisdom. He opened his home to many and shared his knowledge with those willing to listen. His patience, love, and integrity left a lasting mark on everyone he met.

Eddie leaves to cherish his memory his wife Ginnett Simpson, his children Beverly Simpson, Gregory Simpson, Casseme Simpson, Paul Simpson, Cedric (Velda) Simpson, Trent (Melba) Simpson, Monique Moore, and Swavette Byerson, daughter-in-law Mellicent Simpson, 18 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; siblings: Oscar Simpson, Ocelia (Joy) Simpson, Rodney (Flora) Simpson, Betty Jean Mullin, Dorothy Ruth, Vanessa Basemore, Brenda (Willis) Morris; in-laws: Dorothy Simpson, Mary Simpson, Ethel Simpson, Bertha (Charles) Robertson, James Moore, Danny (Domelthel) Moore, Brenda (Raymond) Horton and a host of family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son Barry Simpson, granddaughter Brittany Simpson, stepmother Georgia Simpson; brothers: Quadeem (Dhameera) Shakoor, Willie Simpson Jr., Floyd Simpson, and Johnny Simpson.

A Celebration of Eddie’s Life will be held at the funeral home on Saturday October 18, 2025, 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.
