Elizabeth "Betsy" June Mendoza

Elizabeth “Betsy” June Mendoza, age 59, passed away Monday, May 27, 2024, at Ascension All Saints Medical Center. She was born in Waukegan, IL, July 1, 1964, daughter of the late Gerald and Judith (Nee: Erickson) Vecchio.

On December 31, 1980, Betsy was united in marriage to Joe Mendoza. She was a member of Journey Church. Betsy was a talented doll maker, almost to a life like perfection. She took great pride in her home and cherished time spent with her family.

She was loved dearly and will be sadly missed by her husband, Joe; children, Joe (Norma) Mendoza, Amy Salgado, Michael Mendoza, Daniel (Nicole) Mendoza; 9 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; brother, Eddie Herrera; sisters, Katie (Bill) Stromberg, Laura (Leon) Marsceau; in-laws, Agnes Mendoza, Esther Arizmendi, Alex Mendoza; nieces, nephews other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parent’s, she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Cecilio Mendoza.

Funeral Services celebrating Betsy’s life will be held at 1:30 pm, Saturday June 15, 2024, at the funeral home. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation, Saturday, 12:00 pm until time of service at the funeral home. Memorials to the family have been suggested.
