Emery Handy Jr., age 64, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Lawlis Family Hospice, Mequon, WI. He was born in Jacksonville, FL, April 2, 1956, son of the Emery and Elizabeth Handy Sr.

Emery was raised in Jacksonville and was employed in the construction business working for Autcher Co for 15 years. Emery retired to Racine and had been a resident for the past 15 years. He will be remembered for lighting up a room with his big smile. He enjoyed fishing, vacationing, gardening, and rooting for his New England Patriots. Most of all he treasured the time spent with his family especially the quiet time spent with Lora on the front porch. He will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his fiancé, Lora A. Williams; his father, Emery Handy Sr of Jacksonville, FL; children, Emery Stanley of Jacksonville, Naprena (Rick) Christian of Racine, Mick Odoms of Jacksonville, Emery Handy III of Racine, Lowell Handy of Racine; 19 grandchildren; great grandchildren; 5 sisters, Shelia Handy, Darlene Handy, Angelia Lane Handy, Jacqueline (Anthony) Parker, Denise Diane (Elijah) Johnson all of Jacksonville, FL; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth Handy; his daughter Timeko; and great grandson, Bennie Christian.

Private services will be held followed by interment at West Lawn Memorial Park.

The family wishes to thank Lawliss Hospice, Froedtert Hospital St. Catherine’s Medical Campus, his social worker Megan, staff at the St Catherine’s Cancer Center, Dr Knight, and staff at Heritage Health, and Belle Harbor Apartments for their loving and compassionate care.
