Ernest "Pee Wee" J. Clayton

Ernest Jerome Clayton, “PeeWee,” age 62, passed away Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at Aurora Medical Center, Kenosha. He was born in Memphis, TN, November 6, 1963, to the late Edward and Lenia (Nee: Barton) Clayton.

PeeWee was raised in Chicago, IL and moved to Racine, WI in 2000. He was a sports enthusiast who enjoyed playing/watching football and basketball, always rooting for the Chicago Bears, taking walks, listening to music and cooking. PeeWee will be remembered for always enjoying a good party, socializing with family and friends. PeeWee - you will be, greatly, missed!

Those left to celebrate and cherish his life include his siblings: Edward Clayton, Jr.; Margaret Clayton Carpenter; Randy (Vanessa) Clayton - Joyce (Peaches) & Effie (MayMay); Samuel Boyd; Dwight (Marguerite) Harris; LueGene Florence; and Rozell (Ruby) Clayton; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, other relatives and dear friends. Specifically, (niece) Shana Clayton must be acknowledged for support, care & guardianship that she, graciously, provided to PeeWee during his last few years of life and throughout his transition. We thank you, Shana!

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Clayton.

A time of viewing and visitation will be held at the Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home on Saturday April 4, 2026, 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

Fellowship and feasting to follow from 1:15 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.
