Life Story / Obituary
Esperanza “Hope” Galvan, faithful servant of the Lord, entered into eternal life on Friday, January 24, 2025.
Born June 12, 1940, in San Antonio, Texas to Jesus and Maria Sosa (Nee: Ruiz). As a young child, Esperanza migrated to the north with her parents and siblings. Esperanza was a graduate of Washington Park High School in Racine, Wisconsin. She retired from Racine Unified School District.
Esperanza was very talented, especially in music and art. She started her collection of drawings at the age of thirteen years old. She played the guitar, piano, accordion and tambourine and was a dedicated member of Cristo Rey choir for over twenty years, eventually becoming a choir director. She had a deep love for music and dancing, which remained a joyful part of her life.
On November 23, 1968, Esperanza married the love of her life, Roberto G. Galvan at St. Rose Catholic Church in Racine, Wisconsin and shared a deep bond built on mutual respect and love. As a wife, Esperanza was the heart of her family. Together they raised four children with unconditional love, teaching them the profound value of a deep and lasting relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. Her guidance and faith will forever be cherished. As a mother, she was a constant source of support, encouragement, and love. As a grandmother, she was a pillar of warmth and wisdom, always ready with a gentle word or a shared story, leaving behind a legacy of memories that will be cherished forever. There was never a day she did not pray for the salvation of her family.
