Sue Gabbey (Macewicz), 65, passed away on July 4, 2025, with her husband and daughters by her side. Sue was born on October 20, 1959, to the late Joseph and Charlotte Macewicz. Sue graduated from St. Catherine’s High School in 1977 and from Gateway Technical College in 1978 with a degree in Cosmetology.

Sue was united in marriage with William Gabbey on May 12, 1984. After getting married, Sue became a homemaker, also known as Superwoman. Sue was a kind and selfless person, always putting others first. Sue deeply loved her family, friends, and dogs. Sue raised her four daughters while also caring for other family members. She volunteered with the Parent-Teacher Association at her children’s school and with Senior Companion Program. Her hobbies included crafting, gardening, baking, camping, and enjoying good music.

Sue will be dearly missed and is survived by her husband, William Gabbey; daughters, Sarah Gabbey, Hannah Gabbey, Robbyn Gabbey, and Jennifer Smith; grandchildren; a niece; a nephew; other relatives; and many dear friends. Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Charlotte Macewicz, and her sister, Lynn Macewicz.

A private celebration of life was held, and in keeping with Sue’s wishes, her ashes will be spread at her favorite State Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society or the Humane Society.
