On October 3, 1953, he was united in marriage to Pat Bartels who preceded him in death, February 23, 2022.

Mike was a graduate of Washington Park High School, “Class of 1944”. He was a World War II veteran, serving as a Corporal in the U.S. Army. In June of 2012, he went to Washington D.C. on the Honor Flight with his daughter, Kathy. Mike was employed by SC Johnson, a Family Company, for 27 years, retiring in January 1982. He was a member of the SC Johnson “20 Year Club” and the fishing club. Mike was a devote Catholic, an active member with Knights of Columbus Council 697 and the Catholic Men. He was a member and usher at Sacred Heart, St. John Nepomuk and St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Churches. In retirement, Mike was a long-time volunteer at Toys for Tots. He enjoyed fishing, bowling, golf, dart ball, playing cards and jigsaw puzzles.

He was dearly loved and will be sadly missed by his children Mag Sweeti (Charlie Rudelich), Kris Stanley (Bob Prischmann), Kathy Contreras (Jorge) and Thomas Sweeti; sister Mary Ann Blickle, nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends including his Primrose community.

Along with his parents and beloved wife, Mike was preceded in death by brothers Bill, Harry, Vinny, Jimmy and sisters Margaret Sweeti, Catherine Varju, Georgia Shepard, Stella Tussler and Pat Ruppel.
