George Peter Nondorf, 92, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 2nd, 2026, at his residence with family and friends at his side. George was born on April 23rd, 1933, in Cadot, Wisconsin to the late John and Marcella (Nee: Koepl) Nondorf. As the oldest of 9 children, George started working at the local sawmill at a very young age to help support his family.

He was drafted into the Army as a tank driver during the Korean War in April of 1953; promoted to Sergeant in February 1955 and honorably discharged in April 1961 after receiving the National Defense Service Medal.

George was united in marriage to Lois (Nee: Lackey) Nondorf, November 6, 1954, at the Hitching Post in Las Vegas, NV. Together they raised four beautiful girls while traveling back and forth between California and Wisconsin, before finally settling permanently in Wisconsin in 1973. George worked as a diesel mechanic for many years to support his family before retiring in 1997.

George was a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan who was known by many and loved by all. His endless stories carried pieces of his life. Lessons learned, laughter shared, and the kind of wisdom that only comes from years of truly living. Some were funny, some were thoughtful, and some were R-rated. They were his way of connecting, of teaching, and of reminding his family of where they came from.

He wasn’t just telling stories; he was creating a legacy. One that will live on through his children, his grandchildren and all that come after him. In that way, his voice will never truly fade.

Surviving are his daughters, Kathy (Terence) Van Parys, Marcy (Curt) Kasabian, Christine (Joseph) Muhlenbeck, Gigi (James) Hansen; 9 grandchildren, Michael (Laurie) Van Parys, Carlos (Ashley) Van Parys, Season Hofner, Ty (Julie) Ewing, Brian (Jenna) Kaprelian, Ciara Kaprelian (Aaron Blonski), Chase (Jenna) Hansen, Cord (Samantha) Hansen, Cameron (Hannah) Hansen; 25 great grandchildren (Mason, Madison, Makayla, Luca, Collin, Caleb, Samantha, Chance, Piper, Tristan, Trinity, Caden, Rilynn, Cole, Evelyn, Jameson, Jackson, Grace, Levi, Ruby, Emma, Harper, Brooks, Cal and Leo), 3 great-great granddaughters (Sawyer, Kennedy and Lucy) and a very special friend Kenny (Phyllis) Acker.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Lois Nondorf, his brothers Charlie and James and his sister Betty.

A combined Memorial Service celebrating George and Lois will be held at the funeral home, 11:00 am, Monday, April 27, 2026. Entombment with Full Military Honors will be held at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation on Monday at 10:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.

A special thank you to the caregivers at Aurora at Home Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.
