Harold "Hal" Sydnor

Harold "Hal" Sydnor died peacefully at home in Verona, WI, on Saturday, April 12. Hal was born in Plainfield, New Jersey, and attended college at Denison University in Ohio.

He married his wife of 58 years, Lenore "Lore" Sydnor, in 1967 and later pursued graduate studies at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. He spent the next thirty-three years teaching history and social studies at Case High School in Racine, WI, where his proudest achievement was helping to create the school-within-a-school program.

After retiring, Hal and Lore moved to Bagley, WI, where they enjoyed many years of beautiful sunsets over the Mississippi River. They relocated to Verona, WI in 2022 to be closer to family.

Hal is survived by his loving wife, Lore; sons Justin (Ann) and Ryan (Soo); and grandchildren Jack, Lauren, Cole, and Kira. He was preceded in death by his son, Brenton; his parents; his brother; and his sister.

Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating Hal's life and honoring his memory at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, 803 Main Street, Racine, WI, on Saturday, May 10, 2025. Visitation will begin at 3:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of life ceremony at 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of cards or flowers, the family welcomes donations to Agrace HospiceCare or the Dane County Humane Society.
