Ira Walter Kahoun

Ira Walter Kahoun, age 86, passed away at his residence on March 11, 2024. Ira was born in Chicago, IL on September 19, 1937, son of the late John and Mary Rose (nee: Moody) Kahoun.

He was employed in photography business sales for many years. In his younger years, Ira helped coach his kids in baseball for Tri Cities Little League and was a scoutmaster. Ira married Victoria Herrmann on Valentines Day in 1993 and shared twenty- six years together before Victoria passed away in 2019. Ira loved Lake Michigan, sailing and fishing, and was a member of the Racine Yacht Club, and the Coast Guard Auxiliary. Ira also was a member of the Racine Dairy Statesmen and enjoyed singing in their barbershop choir.

Ira will be missed by his children, Calvin Kahoun, Clayton (Denise) Kahoun, all of IL, and Kimberly (Jim) Petruzzelli of FL; grandchildren, Colin and Blake Kahoun, Samantha and Connor Kahoun, C.J. Petruzzelli, and Kyle (Elisa) Petruzzelli; brothers, Thomas (Cindy) Kahoun, and David Kahoun; sister-in-law, Katie Kahoun; his extended Herrmann family; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and his wife Victoria, Ira was also preceded in death by his brother, John.

There will be a private family celebration of Ira’s life later this year.
