With his family by his side, James A. Levandoski, age 78, passed away peacefully at his residence on Monday November 9, 2020. James was born in Wausau on November 13, 1941, son of the late Michael and Lillian (nee: Petrowski) Levandoski.

Jim graduated from Pulaski High School “Class of 1960”. He proudly served as a morse code intercept operator in the U.S. Air Force, while stationed in Okinawa. He was especially proud of his service and recently took the Honor Flight to Washington DC. On February 1, 1964, Jim married his high school sweetheart, Kathleen Scherbel at St. Alexander Catholic Church in Milwaukee. They have shared over sixty years together and raised four daughters, Deborah, Linda, Kim and Mary Beth. Through the years, he has been employed with Lift Truck Specialist, Wisconsin Industrial truck, Metro Milwaukee Auto Auction and most recently, LYFT and Uber during his retirement. Jim was an avid ham radio operator, N9QL. He enjoyed flying remote control airplanes and belonged to the Racine R.C. Club and Academy of Model Aeronautics. He was also a member of St. Rita Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge 437. Other interests included fishing and NASCAR. He had a special knack for fixing motors and mechanical items. Above all, he loved his time spent with his family. His girls meant the world to him.

Jim will be dearly missed by his loving wife of fifty-six years, Kathy; daughters, Deborah (Ramon) Martinez, Linda (Mike) Lepow, Kim Levandoski (Fred Wagner) , Mary Beth Levandoski (Eric Wennerholm); grandchildren, Ramon (Richard) Anderson-Martinez, Dillon (Amanda)Martinez, Shane Emmons (Mickaylla Marion), James Lepow, Christina Schmidt (Ryan Olk); great-grandchildren, Annabel, Wyatt and Melanie; brothers-in-law, Michael (Karen) Scherbel, Raymond (Sharon) Scherbel; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his grandson Cody Baer, 2 infant daughters, and siblings Lyle, Lois, Marlin, Lavila, and Bernard.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Rita Catholic Church, 4339 Douglas Avenue, on Saturday, November 21, 2020 at 11:00 a.m., with Rev. Michael Petersen officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. Everyone is asked to wear a mask. In Jim’s honor wear your best flannel shirt. Jim would love that. The service may be viewed by going to Jim's page on www.meredithfuneralhome.com, select visitation/services and then Livestream.
