James L. Sura

James L. Sura, age 91, passed away Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Willowick Assisted Living. Jim was born in Racine, July 19, 1933, son of the late George and May (Nee: Flanagan) Sura.

Jim proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Jim was a fireman employed by the Racine Fire Department. He also was a journeyman plumber. Jim was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting.

He was loved dearly and will be sadly missed by his son, Thomas Sura; daughter, Stacy (James) Pfeifer; grandchildren, Ericka Sura, Justin Sura, Dustin Pfeifer, Austin (Annika) Pfeifer and Camerin Pfeifer; great grandchildren, Orion and Liam Sura; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marian Groulek, his brothers Donald and Richard Sura.

Funeral services celebrating Jim’s life will be held at the funeral home, 11:00 am, Wednesday February 19, 2025. Interment with Full Military honors will follow at Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation on Wednesday from 10:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.
