Life Story / Obituary
James Marvin Moes (Jim) died peacefully with his family by his side on December 13, 2025 after a courageous fight against ALS. He was the son of Catherine M. Moes and the late Marvin F. Moes, the beloved husband of Jacqueline A. Moes and adored father of sons James, Andrew, and William Moes.
Jim was born in Austin, Minnesota, and graduated from Austin High, Class of 1985. He went on to earn a Finance degree in Business from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he cultivated lifelong friendships as a proud brother of the SAE fraternity, and met the love of his life, Jacqueline “Jackie” Lambert. Jim and Jackie were united in marriage on October 15, 1994, raised three sons, James, Andrew, and William, and shared thirty-one beautiful years together. Jim enlightened countless young minds while teaching at Jefferson Lighthouse Elementary School for over twenty years until he retired in 2023. In his spare time, Jim enjoyed traveling with family and friends and made lasting memories all over the world. But what Jim most loved was spending time with Jackie and the boys, never missing a chance to cheer them on in their respective sports and activities, beaming with pride in whatever brought them happiness. Jim was known for his subtle humor, quick wit, infectious laugh, and gentle kindness. He will be most remembered as an incredible father and husband who loved his family with all he was until his very last breath.
Jim will be greatly missed by his wife, Jackie; sons, James (Alaina), Drew (fiancée, Sydney Soraghan), and Will Moes; mother, Catherine Moes; brothers, Dave (Jani), Tim (Camille), and Mike (Laura) Moes; brother-in-law, George (Susie) Lambert; sister-in-law, Christine Scott (Dave Henkel); mother-in-law, Audrey (Bill) Linnenkohl; father-in-law, George (Jamie) Lambert; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday January 10, 2026, at Faithbridge Church (10402 Northwestern Ave, Franksville, WI 53126). A celebration of Jim’s life will be held immediately afterwards at Public Brewing Company Kenosha (628 58th St, Kenosha, WI 53140).
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Les Turner ALS Foundation (www.lesturnerals.org) have been suggested.
The family extends a special thank you to all our friends and family that cared for and supported Jim in his fight against ALS.
