Janet A. Sura

Janet Agnes Sura, age 90, passed away peacefully with her family at her side Friday, November 14, 2025, at Aurora Medical Center, Mount Pleasant. She was born in Bloomer, WI, November 26, 1934, daughter of the late Sylvester and LaVerne (nee:Zwiefelhofer) Hepfler. In the early fifties she and her twin sister Janice moved to Racine searching for employment.

Janet enjoyed playing cards and her time spent with friends from the Tuesday and Thursday Card Clubs. She also enjoyed going out dancing and had become of groupie of the band Cork and Classic. Janet’s passion was her family. She was the glue that kept the family together. She will be remembered as a good listener who had a very big heart and was very giving. She was a devoted mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her children, Thomas S. Sura, Stacy A. (James) Pfeifer; grandchildren, Justin Sura, Ericka Sura, Dustin Pfeifer, Austin Pfeifer, Camerin Pfeifer; great grandchildren, Orion and Liam Sura; loving companion, Tom Richer; other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her twin sister, Janice Pias.

Funeral services will be held at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, 803 Main St. Friday, November 21, 2025, 10:30 am. with Rev. Terry Huebner officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet prior to the service 9- 10:30 am.

Memorials to the Humane Society or for Animal Rescue have been suggested.
