Joanne Mary (nee: Schultz) Zywicki passed away at the age of 87 on June 9, 2022, at Oak Ridge Care Center in Union Grove, WI.

Joanne was born in Wausau, WI on March 8, 1935, to John and Mary (nee: Gusman) Schultz and grew up in Schofield, WI. She was united in marriage to John Frank Zywicki Sr. on September 17, 1955, at Church of St. Therese in Rothschild, WI. They moved to Racine, WI. in 1967. While living in Racine, Joanne earned a Master’s Degree in Sociology/Psychology at UW- Parkside and went on to work at the A-Center and Milwaukee Psych for many years. Joanne was a devoted humanitarian and enjoyed working with and helping people. She became a member of the Olympia Brown Unitarian Universalist Church in Racine and found fellowship and lifelong friendships there.

Among her interests throughout her lifetime were; working in her Uncle and Aunt’s (Frank and Anna (nee: Zyduck) Fiereck’s music store as a teenager, Polish Polka music, playing and teaching the Accordion and Piano/Organ, being a member of a musical band called “The Depends” and playing at many different senior facilities, working on puzzles and was a lover of animals. Joanne also enjoyed traveling to Minnesota, the Black Hills in South Dakota, and California.

Joanne will be missed by her children; Kathy (nee: Zywicki) Gedemer, Jodi (nee: Zywicki) and Ken Kosciolek, Vicki Zywicki, Jeanne (nee: Zywicki) Williams, and John Zywicki. Her grandchildren; Scott Gedemer, Brian Gedemer, Austin Casey, Kyle Casey, Kayla Jandl, Anna Jandl, Sunny Mazurek, Gunner Williams, her great grandchildren; Greta Casey, Miles Casey, Leo Casey, Erin Kangas, her brother and sister-in-law David and Carmen Schultz, and her sister-in-law Cecelia (nee: Zywicki) Dunaj and family. Also many other relatives and friends that she enjoyed throughout her life. She is preceded in death by her husband John Frank Zywicki Sr., parents John and Mary (nee: Guzman) Schultz, brother Emery Schultz, and grandson Jesse Dean Mazurek.

A memorial service will be held at the funeral home Friday, July 8, 2022, at 1 pm. Relatives and friends may meet prior to the service 11:30 am to 1 pm.
